Welcome!
The idea behind creating this website is to use it as a place to gather, store and share research of my family history.
The title of the site is named after my Great Grandmother, Rose Ann Godwin, daughter of Charles Godwin (1820-1868) and Rose Ann Aldred (1826-1901).
Born in Colchester around 1860, she married my Great Grandfather, John Wallace at St James Church, Church Kirk, near Accrington, Lancashire in 1878. She died in Oswaldtwistle aged 54 in 1914.
I am fortunate to have some friends and relatives who are assisting me on this journey. I have already received help with photos, stories, reminiscences, newspaper articles, interviews etc to make this site as interesting as possible.
However, if you have any information, photos, stories etc. that you feel would benefit the site then please do not hesitate to contact me.
My areas of interest are: Church, Oswaldtwistle, Accrington, and other Lancashire areas.
- The Wallace family
- The Salt family
- The Godwin/Reeder family – Descendants of Annie M Godwin (Reeder) 1866-1946
Belfast, Northern Ireland. Shankill/Crumlin area
- Wood family
- Park family
- Hall family

This is going to be an excellent and informative source for anyone researching the background and history of these families. I look forward to paying regular visits and hope to contribute.

Hi Kevin, thanks for the kind comments. I know we have regular contact via email, meet up’s etc but I just wanted to say thank you to yourself, Pauline & Karen, through the website, for all the photos, documents, anecdotes, stories, humour which have allowed this site to get up and running and made it a completely enjoyable experience.
In some respects, with recent developments we have probably discovered more than we ever though we would about our Lancashire ancestors. Lets hope there is much more to come.

Welcome to my website, Ann. With help from you and Josie, hopefully I can start to fill in some of the gaps on the Seymour side.
